Important update from TheSchoolRun

For the past 13 years, TheSchoolRun has been run by a small team of mums working from home, dedicated to providing quality educational resources to primary school parents. Unfortunately, rising supplier costs and falling revenue have made it impossible for us to continue operating, and we’ve had to make the difficult decision to close. The good news: We’ve arranged for another educational provider to take over many of our resources. These will be hosted on a new portal, where the content will be updated and expanded to support your child’s learning.

What this means for subscribers:

  • Your subscription is still active, and for now, you can keep using the website as normal — just log in with your usual details to access all our articles and resources*.
  • In a few months, all resources will move to the new portal. You’ll continue to have access there until your subscription ends. We’ll send you full details nearer the time.
  • As a thank you for your support, we’ll also be sending you 16 primary school eBooks (worth £108.84) to download and keep.

A few changes to be aware of:

  • The Learning Journey weekly email has ended, but your child’s plan will still be updated on your dashboard each Monday. Just log in to see the recommended worksheets.
  • The 11+ weekly emails have now ended. We sent you all the remaining emails in the series at the end of March — please check your inbox (and spam folder) if you haven’t seen them. You can also follow the full programme here: 11+ Learning Journey.

If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]. Thank you for being part of our journey it’s been a privilege to support your family’s learning.

*If you need to reset your password, it will still work as usual. Please check your spam folder if the reset email doesn’t appear in your inbox.

Fun gifts for Father's Day 2024

Silly family photo
Silly dads, grandads, carers, step parents – we all know one! Find a fun gift for Father's Day 2024 and celebrate that silly someone who brightens your day.

Lego mug

Lego mug
£12.95

Perfect for your loved one's inner-child. LEGO is ageless and this mug is both useful (for hot and cold drinks) and fun to play with (just make sure your adult isn't prone to swallowing small LEGO bits).

Fart tin

Fart tin
£7.13

I know what you're thinking – a fart tin? Seriously? Yes. Seriously. Farts happen, and some silly adults have yet to learn a bit of self-restraint and they let loose a little too often for the family's liking (we're looking at you, Mum). That's where the fart tin comes in: a fine for every fart. You'll be rich in no time!

Kids vs Parents board game

Kids vs Parents board game
£12.99

This is a fun family game with a lot of interesting and silly questions created to see how well you know each other. It's really small, so it's handy as a travel game. You'll have plenty of laughs and plenty of surprises. If you want to create your own (and save some pennies), you can simply write your own questions on cards and see how well your family know each other!

Book a day out with Dad this Father's Day

Alternatively, you could go on an adventure to a theme park, a theatre, a SEA LIFE centre or many other wonderful places, and make some unforgettable memories.

We've teamed up with the lovely people at Lovetovisit.com to help you find affordable, local adventures, with tickets at some of the best prices around.

Shark bite hat

Shark bite hat
£6.16

When you see this gift, you'll instantly visualise it on the head of that silly someone who makes you laugh and roll your eyes at the same time! They'll love this quirky hat and it will be a great conversation piece at every social event (yes, they'll probably wear it to EVERY event).

Funny t-shirt

Funny t-shirt
£14.99

Aren't pun gifts the punniest? Known as a classic 'dad joke', this t-shirt slogan hits the mark nicely with its play on words. You can browse various versions online but this one made us smile and cringe (just like a good dad joke should).

Pet Rock

Pet Rock
£4.99

It's a pet rock... what more needs to be said? This is possibly the silliest of gifts and, of course, an easy one to make yourself. But if you're low on time and energy, you can actually buy one online. Madness!

Fixer of Everything plaque

Fixer of Everything plaque
£7.99

A funny little plaque to go on you loved one's work desk and make it clear, once and for all, that they truly are the 'fixer of everything'. It's also a good joke for someone who is actually known in the family as the 'breaker of everything'. Who's the loveable, clumsy one in your family?

Glasses holder

Glasses holder
£7.99

A tasteful but fun desk or bedside table gift. Know someone who is always losing their glasses? This could be the solution! You can also purchase one with a moustache.

Lobster oven gloves

Lobster oven gloves
£11.99

Pinch a pair of lobster claws for those who love a bit of madness in the kitchen. Combine these with the shark bite hat (above) and you've got one weird and wacky chef.

Personalised Superman cushion

Personalised Superman cushion
£32.99

Some of us love to wear our weird on our sleeve, or perhaps on a cushion, and why not? Create this funny mini-me cushion and you can (quite literally) embrace the weirdness.

Belly button cleaner

Belly button cleaner
£2.60

What do you get someone who has it all? Well, according to Etsy, a belly button cleaner. Possibly the most random gift on this list, but definitely right for that silly someone. Could actually be quite useful, too...

Face spoons

Face spoons
£9

There are lots of face-on-things gifts, but it's so much fun, so here's another one: face spoons! The images are engraved to a high quality, and you can add your own silly or thoughtful message. One example given is: 'My name is Sammy and I love meatballs.'

Do what scares your family tea towel

Do what scares your family tea towel
£12

We love this twist on the classic quote 'do one thing everyday that scares you'. This tea towel has a fierce-looking person wrestling a crocodile, so that's one wild suggestion (that we would not recommend, of course). Perhaps the perfect sentiment for those dare devils or pranksters in the family.
