Optional SATs papers: Y3 English set A
Although externally-assessed SATs only take place at the end of each Key Stage, in some schools optional SATs were used prior to 2015 to assess children's progress in English and maths at the end of Years 3, 4 and 5. Only a very limited number of official optional SATs papers were available to parents for at-home use (you can download them for free from TheSchoolRun), so we commissioned our own 'mock' papers.
From 2016, new SATs were introduced in line with the new National Curriculum. These mock papers, available exclusively to TheSchoolRun subscribers, are based on the old-style optional SATs but will still offer your child extra practice opportunities and have been written to reflect the kind of questions they'll find in the official papers.
Year 3 English optional SATs, set A includes:
- Y3 English Reading paper, Story text (Fantastic Felines, Caring for your cat, Cats as pets: a history)
- Reading Answer booklet
- Year 3 English Writing Assessment (The Magical Cat, The Incredible Cat Toys)
- Answers and mark scheme
All the papers and marking materials have been merged into one easy download.
